Job summary

BETA Technologies is seeking a Senior Structures Design Engineer to lead airframe development for a next-generation electric aircraft. The role is based onsite in South Burlington, VT with hybrid work options and periodic travel to Raleigh, NC.

You will design primary and secondary structures across wing, fuselage, empennage, and interfaces, ensuring manufacturability and weight targets. Responsibilities include CAD definition in CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE, preliminary sizing, and close collaboration

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in aircraft structural design principles and load paths.
• Experience with structural sizing, joints, fasteners, and GD&T.
• Ability to communicate assumptions, risks, and interfaces clearly.
• Experience taking concepts through layout, definition, build, and test support.

Responsibilities

• Develop primary and secondary aircraft structure for an advanced airframe across wing, pylon, fuselage, empennage, and control surfaces.
• Create 3D CAD definitions for structure and interfaces; manage joints and installations.
• Translate requirements and constraints into practical structural design solutions.
• Coordinate with Stress, Loads, Aerodynamics, Materials & Processes, and Manufacturing teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
