Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician II to install and manage commercial cabling systems, including CAT5e/6, WAPs, and MDF/IDF builds. You will read blueprints, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with project teams on active construction sites.

The role requires 2+ years in low-voltage cabling, a high school diploma, and certifications such as BICSI Level 1 and OSHA 10 are preferred. Flexibility for overtime and night shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial structured cabling, low-voltage, or data cable installation experience.
• Commercial construction or low-voltage background.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• BICSI certification, Level 1 or higher, preferred.
• Active OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Scissor lift certification preferred.
• Ability to work safely from ladders and scissor lifts and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to provide and use basic hand tools listed in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Install CAT5e and CAT6 structured cabling infrastructure.
• Dress and route cables into IT closets, modular furniture, and work area outlets.
• Install cable pathways, including J-hooks, D-rings, cable trays, and ladder racks.
• Perform cable management, including proper dressing and labeling.
• Terminate cables at patch panels, jacks, keystones, RJ-45 connectors, and modular plugs.
• Install wireless access points (WAPs).
• Build and support MDF and IDF environments, including data racks, ladder racks, cable trays, and sleeves.
• Read, interpret, and follow project blueprints and installation specifications.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues and management.
• Follow established safety guidelines and protocols, including proper PPE use, jobsite cleanup, and OSHA requirements.
