Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Structural Steel Inspector (CWI) to support a major construction project in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The role focuses on inspection and QA for fabrication and erection of structural steel, with collaboration among project stakeholders to ensure on-specification delivery.

The candidate will perform welding inspections, NDT testing, and review drawings while traveling as project needs require; extensive field work and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Licensed Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with ASNT Level 2 preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years of NDT experience.
• Strong understanding of material properties, defects, and testing standards.
• Valid driver’s license and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding inspections at job sites and prepare reports per standards.
• Conduct NDT testing using UT, MT, PT, RT, VT and related methods.
• Interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Coordinate with fabricators, engineers and supervisors to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Adhere to safety protocols and assist in developing inspection procedures.
