Job summary

TE Connectivity in the United States seeks a Principal Structural & Mechanical Analysis Engineer to advance high-speed interconnect concepts through first-principles modeling, FEA, and multi-physics simulations to screen architectures and guide design decisions for AI hardware platforms.

You will collaborate with Signal Integrity, Mechanical Design, and PDE/NPI teams; mentor peers, automate simulation processes, and drive verification with test data.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of progressive engineering experience in high-fidelity FEA and structural/thermal‑mechanical analysis in high-tech electromechanical products or electronic packaging.
• Recognized technical expert in commercial FEA platforms (Ansys Mechanical) with mastery in nonlinear materials and thermal–stress coupling.
• Strong experience in test correlation and model calibration (e.g., strain gauges, displacement/force measurement).

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of first-principles engineering analysis and multi-physics simulations to down-select concepts.
• Build reduced-order mechanical/thermal models for rapid screening of architectures and scaling limits.
• Perform high-fidelity nonlinear structural and thermal‑mechanical simulations and assess accuracy vs. computation time.
