Job summary

TE Connectivity plc in the United States is seeking a Principal R&D Product Development Engineer for the DDN socket team. You will lead end-to-end development of high-speed, large-size sockets, define and drive technical activities, and coordinate engineering communications with customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience for high-speed interconnect products with signal integrity knowledge preferred.
• Direct customer design support experience and ability to work with field application engineers.
• Expert-level knowledge of interconnect design or experience with high-speed connectors with PCIe Gen 6/7.
• Proficiency with Creo/SolidWorks and signal integrity tools.
• Fluent in English and able to collaborate across geographies.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development of high-speed sockets—from market definition to production release.
• Mentor engineering teams in advanced mechanical design principles and SI methodologies.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to capture VOC and translate into specifications.
• Provide manufacturing support and quality assurance during ramp-up and launches.
