Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Senior Supplier Engineer, Structural Components to support transfer of structural assemblies to suppliers. The role focuses on cost-effectiveness, DFM, and lead manufacturing readiness from concept to production, collaborating across Program Managers and Engineering teams.

The position is hybrid, onsite in Berkeley, CA or Somerville, MA at least 3 days per week, with relocation assistance available and a strong emphasis on quality, welding standards, and NDT

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, industrialization, or manufacturing engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience with structural fabrication processes and welding standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX).
• Strong GD&T knowledge for large weldments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Advanced Manufacturing teams to co-develop Pack-level structural designs, optimizing for integrity and modularity.
• Lead DFM and APQP reviews with structural suppliers, focusing on welding feasibility and assembly tolerances.
• Own the QML and PPAP roadmap, qualifying WPS, PQR, and WPQ.
• Partner with suppliers to establish weld verification programs and NDT requirements.
• Identify and mitigate schedule risks in heavy manufacturing, including long-lead steel and large-component shipping constraints.
• Drive closed-loop non-conformance management with SCARs and RCA for defects.
