Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Senior Supplier Engineer, Structural Components to support transfer of structural assemblies to suppliers, focusing on cost-effectiveness and DFM analysis. You'll work with Global Supply Management to drive supplier qualification, weld verification, and APQP in a fast-moving energy storage company.

This hybrid role requires onsite presence at Berkeley, CA or Somerville, MA sites at least 3 days per week, with relocation assistance and a strong emphasis on manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supplier quality, industrialization, or manufacturing engineering for heavy-gauge structural steel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with heavy plate/structural steel forming, laser/plasma cutting, and multi-pass welding.
• Knowledge of welding standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX) and weld inspection methods (NDT/destructive).
• Understanding of GD&T for large weldments.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and leading on-site audits.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Advanced Manufacturing teams to co-develop pack-level structural designs, optimizing for structural integrity and modular integration.
• Lead DFM and APQP reviews with structural suppliers, focusing on welding feasibility and large-scale tolerances.
• Own the QML and PPAP roadmap; qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ with suppliers.
• Partner with suppliers to establish weld verification programs and NDT/destructive testing approaches.
• Identify and mitigate program schedule risks in heavy manufacturing.
• Drive closed-loop non-conformance management with SCARs and RCA audits.
