Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks a Senior Supplier Engineer – Structural Components to lead supplier readiness from design through production, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness for heavy assemblies.

You'll qualify welding procedures, manage QML/PPAP, and coordinate with Design, Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement to mitigate risks and enable on-time product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong experience in SRP engineering, manufacturing and supplier readiness.
• Hands-on experience with structural fabrication, welding, stamping, laser cutting, bending, plating, and large-scale assemblies.
• Knowledge of DFM, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and supplier quality management.
• Experience with welding quality and qualification processes including WPS, PQR and WPQ.
• Knowledge of weld inspection and NDT methods incl. ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant testing.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, manufacturing processes and process capability.
• Experience leading 8D, RCA, SCAR, corrective action and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Advanced Manufacturing teams to develop pack-level structural designs and ensure manufacturability.
• Lead DFM, APQP and supplier readiness reviews, focusing on welding feasibility and large-scale fabrication.
• Own QML and PPAP roadmap, qualifying welding specs and procedures.
• Partner with structural suppliers to establish weld verification and validation programs including destructive testing and NDT methods.
• Identify and mitigate supplier and program risks in heavy manufacturing and large components.
• Drive closed-loop supplier non-conformance management with SCARs and root-cause analysis.
