Zusammenfassung

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks a Principal Materials Engineer – Metals to lead material selection and design for metal-based components in NPD efforts for surgical devices. You will collaborate with R&D, procurement, and suppliers to optimize manufacturability, cost and quality.

Responsibilities include DFMEA participation, DFM/ DFA analyses, tooling cost planning, supplier selection, and technology advancement in metal processes.

Qualifikationen

• Education: BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent; MS preferred.
• Min 10 years of applicable experience in metals engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA, GD&T, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Significant experience with metal forming/manufacturing processes ( stamping, CNC, MIM, powder metallurgy, casting, zinc die casting).
• Experience with PPAP and production part qualification in high-volume environments.
• Exceptional project management and leadership skills; ability to work across global units.

Aufgaben

• Specify material selections and design features balancing function, manufacturability and cost.
• Participate in R&D meetings and Quality DFMEA reviews.
• Perform DFM analysis and drive resolutions with R&D.
• Lead CER process cost estimations for tooling and fixtures.
• Provide engineering estimates for production parts/subassemblies.
• Lead supplier selection and define tooling/manufacturing process strategies.
• Facilitate Early Supplier Involvement technical meetings and document agreements.
• Generate electronic Purchase Requisitions for tooling and production qualification.
• Maintain strategic supplier contacts during tooling fabrication and part qualification.
• Promote new metal materials and manufacturing process technologies.
• Execute materials transfer deliverables from Pilot to receiving plant.
• Advise management on risks impacting time-to-market and standard cost.
• Travel to supplier sites and mentor engineers.
