Qualifications

• 4 years related experience or 8 years related ship building/ship repair experience.
• Must be a highly qualified journeyman.
• Ability to read and understand and execute from drawings.
• Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability/proficiency with personal computer and system/platform applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Lead journeymen and apprentices to execute the full range of metal trades.
• Assign tasks and ensure completion within deadlines; motivate the team.
• Oversee safety, quality, and productivity; manage staffing and scheduling.
• Coordinate with HR on hiring/firing and formal discipline actions.
• Review work quality with QC and report deficiencies; provide training as needed.
• Ensure crew has proper tools, equipment, drawings, and instructions.
