Job summary

Achievers USA in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to develop accurate material, labor, and project cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection. You will interpret drawings and specifications, prepare detailed bids, and collaborate with Project Managers, detailers, fabricators, and leadership to ensure competitive proposals and smooth handoffs.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience estimating structural steel projects; 5+ years preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction estimating software.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates and bids for structural steel projects.
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, connections, and related materials.
Develop material, labor, fabrication, erection, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
Identify project requirements, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts.
Prepare competitive bids and proposals in accordance with project requirements.
Collaborate with Project Managers, detailers, fabricators, and leadership during estimating and handoff.
Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.
