Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and bids for structural steel projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, connections, and related materials.
• Develop material, labor, fabrication, erection, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify project requirements, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals in accordance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, detailers, fabricators, and leadership during estimating and handoff.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year, depending on experience

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications to develop accurate material, labor, and project cost estimates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare detailed estimates and bids for structural steel projects.
• Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, connections, and related materials.
• Develop material, labor, fabrication, erection, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify project requirements, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals in accordance with project requirements.
• Work closely with Project Managers, detailers, fabricators, and company leadership during the estimating and handoff process.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.
