Job summary

Tutor Perini Civil-East is seeking a Structural Steel Engineer for our project site in Old Saybrook, CT. The role reports to the Structural Steel Manager and involves coordinating with project teams to ensure timely, safe, and quality execution of steel structures.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, with strong communication and means&methods development abilities. Competitive salary range is provided.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural steel erection, heavy civil construction, bridges, or related steel structures.
• Experience interfacing with fabricators, subcontractors & owners to resolve design, procurement and constructability issues.
• Coordinate contract drawings, design drawings, and shop drawings to facilitate an erectable final structure.
• Experience interfacing with design engineers & construction engineers to develop means & methods processes.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project safety programs, observations, and audits.
• Assists Project Managers and Superintendents with project-related tasks.
• Assists in identifying and promoting changes to improve productivity and quality on the project.
• Communicates with Project Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering regarding schedule and issues.
• Develops RFIs, work plans, and submittals for the project.
• Tracks and reports quantities of work performed and understands associated costs.
