Job summary

Tutor Perini Civil-East in New Rochelle, NY is seeking a Structural Steel Engineer to lead complex erection projects. You will coordinate with owners, designers, fabricators and field teams to meet safety, quality and schedule goals.

Requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering and 8+ years in structural steel erection, strong communication, and coordination with fabricators, designers and field staff; proficiency with MS Office is expected.

Salary range is $125,000 to $175,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in structural steel erection or heavy civil construction.
Experience interacting with fabricators, subcontractors, and owners to resolve issues.
Ability to coordinate drawings and means & methods with design teams and field staff.
Proficiency with MS Office and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Participates in project safety programs, observations, and audits.
Assists Project Managers and Superintendents with project tasks.
Promotes changes to improve productivity and quality on the project.
Communicates with Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering regarding schedule and issues.
Develops RFIs, work plans and submittals for the project.
Tracks quantities and understands associated costs.
Assists with CPM schedule development and maintenance.
Maintains as-built drawings with field staff.
