Job summary

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Structural Steel Engineer for our project site in Old Saybrook, CT. The role focuses on managing safety, quality, profitability and schedule while coordinating with Project Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering teams.

The engineer develops RFI’s, submittals, time and material pricing submittals, and supports CPM scheduling. A BS in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of structural steel experience are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural steel erection, heavy civil construction, bridge, or related steel structures.
• Experience coordinating with fabricators, subcontractors, and owners to resolve design, procurement, and constructability issues.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project safety programs, observations, and audits.
• Assists in planning, organizing, and controlling project coordination activities.
• Develops RFI’s, work plans and submittals for the project.
• Tracks quantities and understands associated costs; supports pricing submittals.
• Maintains CPM schedules and as-built drawings with field staff.
