Job summary

MAAS Companies is seeking a QA/QC Technical Reviewer, Structural for LAUSD, to perform technical review of structural plans and specifications for district construction projects. You will provide written comments on adherence to standards, quality of design, and coordination with other disciplines.

You will contribute to design guidance materials and recommend updates to structural policy to stay current with codes, safety, and cost considerations.

Qualifications

• Valid California PE license is required.
• 10 years of full-time structural engineering experience in planning, design and construction of educational facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related field; degree substitutions allowed for up to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review of structural plans and specifications for District construction projects.
• Provide written comments on adherence to District standards and coordination with other disciplines.
• Contribute to School Design Guide, Educational Specifications, Guide Technical Specifications, and Standard Technical Drawings.
• Recommend updates to District structural policy and specifications for code, safety, cost and maintenance.
• Provide guidance on substitutions, departures from standards, and field technical questions.
• Conduct QA/QC, constructability reviews, and peer reviews on projects in design and construction.
