Job summary

SML – Consulting Structural & Forensic Engineers, based in Phoenix, seeks a licensed Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead design and delivery across commercial, industrial, residential, and retrofit projects. Will seal calculations, guide junior staff, and manage client relationships.

The role blends hands-on engineering with project leadership, requiring strong communication, code knowledge, and field coordination. Office-based with some fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer license (Arizona or ability to obtain).
• Arizona SE license or comity licensure within six months is preferred.
• 4–20 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience as Engineer of Record or signing/sealing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and engineering for diverse project types (commercial, industrial, residential).
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate documentation, reviews, and client communications.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure project quality and compliance.
• Travel to project sites as needed in Greater Phoenix area.
