Job summary

Morgan Construction Management, LLC in Philadelphia seeks a Licensed Structural Engineer to lead complex projects in government, transportation, and educational sectors. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional structural engineering experience in schools, commercial buildings, institutional facilities.
  • Knowledge of structural systems: steel, concrete, masonry, wood, foundations, framing, lateral systems.
  • Experience with City of Philadelphia building permit process.
  • Ability to coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and fire protection disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for reports and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and advertise RFPs for 3rd party design firms.
  • Review and approve proposals from 3rd party design firms.
  • Manage contracts and approve invoices of design firms.
  • Develop scope determination reports for Capital Improvement Projects by assessing structural systems and existing building conditions.
  • Technical review of design development plans and construction documents.
  • Prepare bid specifications and IFBs and provide design support during bid and construction.
  • Contribute to restoration and preservation of historic schools and building systems.
  • Coordinate with Philadelphia L&I and other external agencies.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure constructability of building systems.
  • Work with Environmental, Construction, Facilities & Maintenance and Space Planning teams.
