Job summary

Terracon in the San Antonio area is seeking a Practice Lead-Structural Engineer to shape our Building Performance Services. The role focuses on investigation, remedial design, and consulting for rehabilitation of steel and concrete infrastructure across Texas.

Based in San Antonio with flexibility for multiple Texas locations (Austin, Dallas, Houston), the position involves travel to projects and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality designs and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in building science or related field with 10+ years’ experience in facility assessment.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering and consulting services for remedial design and investigations (steel and concrete).
• Lead multidisciplinary building engineering teams and coordinate personnel to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Prepare construction documents and professional reports with clear technical presentations.
• Develop proposals including scope of services, fee development, and project schedule.
• Mentor junior staff and cross-train team members on structural services.
• Support business development by strengthening client relationships and pursuing new opportunities.
