Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Savannah is seeking a Structural Mechanic III to perform assembly, drilling and riveting on aircraft structures in a team environment, following prints, specs and 5S Lean requirements. You will interpret blueprints and 3D models, align and fit detail parts, and ensure conformance to all safety and quality standards.

• 4 years related structural assembly experience.
• Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
• Q-stamp preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements.
• Rivet structural members, assemblies and parts using all tools required to do the job.
• Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence and hole patterns.
• Instruct and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints and engineering orders; develop methods to resolve problems.
• Maintain and use logs and records (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).
• Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, fixtures and fasteners per blueprint specifications.
• Make repairs per DMT/MRR/PCO; perform rework to ensure conformity.
• Maintain a neat work area and adhere to 5S & Lean initiatives and safety rules.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Properly use and return tools; ensure SOPs when operating ground support equipment.
• Dispose of waste fluids and solvents properly; charge aircraft jobs accurately.
• Share information across shifts and with leadership.
