Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our energy design team. You will lead structural design for power generation facilities, supervise engineers, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role supports projects across the United States, with hybrid work options and opportunities to work on high-profile infrastructure programs.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, a civil/structural degree, and extensive experience in nuclear/thermal facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

Responsibilities

• Support Nuclear Technical Lead and Department Manager with strategic resourcing initiatives
• Supervise and lead a team of structural engineers through their individual and team technical development for greater utility to the organization and overall career satisfaction
• Serve as Structural Lead/Engineering of Record on all size projects maintaining responsibility for deliverable development and contributing to the design work
• Lead improvements in project efficiencies by creating, updating, and implementing group specific standards/templates and researching and recommending software packages/plug-ins
• Develop task and deliverable list with associated hours estimate and schedule to support business development activities
• Multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, site layouts, facility retrofits, technical specifications, contractor scopes of work, etc.
• Provides technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence and other studies presenting complextechnical solutions to clients.
• Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning
• Directing, originating and contributing to the development of structural engineering calculations, specifications and drawings
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
• Participating in and presenting engineering work at internal and client meetings including those requiring occasional travel
