Job summary

The Town of Davie is seeking a Building Inspector capable of supporting the Building Official in administering the Building Division in Broward County, Florida. The role emphasizes code interpretation, plan review, enforcement, and coordinating inspections to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code.

Qualified candidates hold a G.C., PE, or Architect license and either a BORA certification or Florida professional licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• Certified as a G.C. or Professional Engineer or Architect per Florida requirements (BORA/BORA Standard Plans Examiner).
• Florida Registration as Architect or PE qualifies for the role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inspection records and database entries.
• Interpret Building Code for architects, engineers, owners and contractors and advise on compliance.
• Review plans and supervise workload and performance of building inspectors.
• Maintain contact with Broward County boards for information on code violations and appeals.
• Assist in Building Safety Inspection Program (BSIP) and in planning, coordination, and supervision of Building Division policies and operations.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Building Official.
