Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (Civil or Environmental) to join the Water Team in Detroit. The candidate should have seven or more years of related experience and a BS in civil or environmental engineering.

A flexible hybrid-remote schedule is available after 90 days. Typical duties include structural analysis and design for heavy civil and underground facilities, coordination with project teams, and preparation of plans, specs, and cost estimates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Minimum of five years of related experience in structural engineering.
Foundation experience including mats, piles, caissons, anchors.
Experience with soil and rock mechanics is a plus.
Familiarity with ACI 350/318, AISC, and IBC required.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and structural design software.
Strong technical writing, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of heavy civil and underground structures.
Provide planning, design and construction support for wet weather projects.
Design for reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, FRP materials.
Prepare calculations, construction plans, and specifications.
Coordinate with Senior Engineers and Project Managers.
Prepare design cost estimates and monitor budgets.
Conduct on-site inspections and assist with proposals and reports.
