Job summary

Plan North Engineers in Boise, Idaho seeks a Senior Technical Engineer (8+ years licensed) to lead structural projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and component design. The role blends technical leadership with hands-on project work and mentorship of junior staff.

This in-person position offers direct access to firm leadership, relocation assistance for qualified out-of-state candidates, and a compensation package featuring $100K–$140K salary and a $5K sign-on bonus, plus

Qualifications

• P.E. license required; S.E. license preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a licensed professional engineer in structural engineering, including residential, commercial, industrial, and component projects.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior engineering staff.
• Proficiency in design software (RISA Suite, Revit, ArchiCad).
• Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing skills.
• In-person role based in Boise, Idaho; must have a valid driver's license and work authorization in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, drawings, and other structural documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers, review work, and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Perform advanced structural analyses and evaluations for new and existing structures.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other design professionals to coordinate structural engineering efforts.
• Represent the firm in client meetings, presentations, and site inspections.
