Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its San Diego, CA and Irvine, CA offices. You will lead structural design for healthcare, higher education, civic and commercial projects, with emphasis on seismic considerations and code compliance.

Deliver drawings, calculations, and reports while guiding junior staff. You will collaborate with architects, planners, and other engineers to meet client objectives and ensure quality, safety, and regulatory adherence across multiple projects in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in structural design, detailing, renovation and/or seismic strengthening in specified markets.
• Strong lateral force-resisting system design and detailing experience; familiar with CBC/IBC.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and their application to projects.
• Experience with design and construction administration including rehabilitation and new design projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural construction drawings, calculation packages and specifications.
• Analyze data from sites, surveys, geotechnical data to support design and construction.
• Work with cross-functional teams to execute project work in compliance with codes.
• Prepare data and visualizations for reporting and presentations.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and procedures for measurements and calculations.
• Assist in development and scoping of medium-sized projects; guide junior engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
