Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Rail + Transit Structural Engineering team in New York City. You will provide high-level structural design, mentor junior staff, and lead projects for major transit clients such as MTA, Amtrak, LIRR, and Metro-North.

Based in NY, you will collaborate with PMs and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver structurally sound, constructible designs. A NY PE license is required; 10+ years of rail/transit experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally rail/transit.
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools and BIM/CAD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level structural design input for rail and transit facilities.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Produce and review calculations, drawings, specs, and reports.
• Lead structural tasks independently and coordinate with Project Managers.
• Perform analysis with steel, concrete, and masonry systems; consider seismic/dynamic loads.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in client meetings.
