Job summary

TYLin in New York City is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Rail + Transit Structural Engineering team. You will be a key technical resource delivering designs for major transit facilities in the NYC region.

Based in our New York office, you will mentor junior engineers, lead structural tasks, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions with seismic considerations and advanced BIM/CAD workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
10+ years in structural engineering, rail/transit focus.
NY PE license required; SE or additional licensure a plus.
Familiar with AREMA, AASHTO, IBC, NYC NYC-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide senior-level structural design for major rail + transit facilities, including stations and maintenance facilities.
Serve as a trusted technical resource on project teams and resolve complex challenges.
Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering growth.
Begin leading structural tasks and coordinate with Project Managers.
Perform structural analysis for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry with seismic/dynamic loading.
Support field investigations and feasibility studies for transit projects.
Collaborate with architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical and systems teams.
Participate in client coordination meetings and manage stakeholder expectations.
