Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Raleigh, North Carolina office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Structures team in person. The role involves managing projects, producing complete structural drawings, and mentoring EITs, with emphasis on leadership and design excellence.

The candidate will perform design calculations, supervise plan production, and ensure QA/QC across projects, while engaging clients and the design team to drive success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp.
• Experience with STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management and leading of projects.
• Develop full sets of structural drawings and technical specifications without guidance.
• Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering.
• Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages, while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project.
• Lead and provide support for construction phase efforts on building projects in structural engineering.
• Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members.
• Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients.
