Job summary

Coffman Engineers seeks a senior Structural Discipline Engineer in Spokane with a minimum of 10 years of experience. You will lead structural design for commercial buildings, manage projects from early design through construction, and collaborate with architects, owners, and contractors to deliver high-quality drawings and analyses.

You will develop models, review documents, mentor junior staff, and support client relationships through principled, practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer analysis software systems.
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
• Ability to build and maintain a strong team within a cooperative multidiscipline office serving clients.
• Design experience with steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light gauge steel and their design standards.
• Perform and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on commercial projects including complex gravity and lateral systems and ability to interpret code provisions.
• Manage scope, schedule and profitability of projects and maintain client relationships.
• Conduct marketing/business development activities including proposal writing and negotiations.
• Provide and implement QA/QC plans and review construction documents.
• Understand construction realities and propose practical, buildable solutions.
