Job summary

Mackin Engineers & Consultants in Pittsburgh seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex structural projects. You will own high-impact work, mentor junior staff, and contribute technical leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, client engagement, and adherence to industry standards, with opportunities to influence project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• PE license in Pennsylvania is required; other state licenses are a plus or must be obtained within 6 months.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
• Proficiency with PennDOT design manuals and standards; familiarity with WVDOH/ODOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for projects of varying complexity.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers.
• Review project work for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance.
• Assist in developing project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
• Represent Mackin in client meetings and proposal development.
