Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Senior Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA, to lead structural design from concept through construction. You will develop Revit models, prepare construction documents, and coordinate steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, a Civil Engineering degree with structural emphasis, and strong BIM/coordination skills. PE license is preferred or obtainable. On-site role with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis; Master's preferred
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience in commercial/industrial/institutional projects
• Strong proficiency with Revit Structure; AutoCAD a plus
• Experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems
• Knowledge of building codes and structural design standards
• Familiarity with BIM coordination software such as Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, or Bluebeam
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Develop structural Revit models and construction drawing packages
• Design and coordinate structural systems (steel, concrete, masonry, wood)
• Prepare foundation and framing plans, sections, details, and construction docs
• Review drawings to identify coordination and constructability issues
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection
• Support project teams with design revisions, RFIs, and as-built documentation
• Maintain drawing quality and BIM standards
• Perform quality control reviews before final engineering review
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, architects, and clients
