Job summary

DLR Group in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design of structural systems across K-12, Higher Ed, Justice, Cultural and Mixed Use sectors. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with architects and other engineers on integrated building designs using Revit.

You will develop concepts through construction, manage schedules and proposals, adapt to codes, review shop drawings, and participate in business development and client contacts to advance the DLR Group

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of building-related structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California; Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
• Prior experience leading teams of engineers on projects.
• Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
• Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
• Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of structural systems for buildings across sectors.
• Direct a team of junior staff to produce construction documents in Revit.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and proposals.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers in integrated design.
• Adapt to variations in building codes and practices across the US.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and attend O/A/C meetings.
• Mentor entry-level staff and share knowledge.
• Support business development through RFPs and client engagement.
