Job summary

DLR Group in Colorado is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design of structural systems for a variety of buildings, from K-12 to Cultural and Mixed-Use projects, utilizing Revit and modern analysis tools.

You will mentor junior staff, manage project schedules, review shop drawings and RFIs, and contribute to proposals, budgets, and client interviews. We support a four-day in-office schedule with Friday flexibility and a commitment to sustainable design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of building-related structural engineering experience including design of concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
• Experience leading teams of engineers on projects.
• Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
• Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
• Strong problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to sustainable building design and SE2050.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of structural systems for buildings across sectors.
• Direct a team of junior staff to produce construction documents using Revit.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers in an integrated design process.
• Develop work plans, schedules, budgets, and proposals with discipline leadership.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and participate in O/A/C meetings.
• Support business development through RFPs and client interviews.
