Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Raleigh or Charlotte. You will lead the structural design of diverse facilities, coordinate with a multidiscipline team, and develop drawings, specs and calculations through construction.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience, PE license, and proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS or SAFE; knowledge of environmental structures is a plus, with a collaborative, client-focused approach.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 10+ years of building-design experience.
Professional Engineer license or equivalent recognized by the location’s licensing board.
Experience in design calculations and layouts for structural systems.
Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood; gravity and lateral analysis.
Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms and team leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design of facilities across markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, and Education.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams through planning, design, and construction administration.
Develop construction drawings, specifications and engineering calculations; review shop drawings.
Mentor and guide project teams; deliver high-quality, technically sound structural designs.
Experience with environmental structures including reinforced concrete tanks using ACI 350 is a plus.
