Our client, a respected civil engineering consultancy, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer (Infrastructure) to lead design and analysis of infrastructure projects in Upington, Northern Cape. You will mentor junior engineers and ensure safety and code compliance.

Requirements include a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, Pr.Eng with ECSA, 7+ years of infrastructure experience, and proficiency in SAP2000/ETABS/STAAD.Pro. Hybrid working arrangement offered.

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration as Pr.Eng with ECSA is required.

About the Role

Our client, a respected civil engineering consultancy, is seeking a proficient Senior Structural Engineer (Infrastructure) to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This role focuses on the structural design and analysis of infrastructure projects such as bridges, water retaining structures, industrial facilities, and pipeline supports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in structural engineering principles, advanced analysis techniques, and a thorough understanding of materials like steel and concrete. You will lead design tasks, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the structural integrity and safety of critical infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure development in the Upington region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of infrastructure projects, including bridges, culverts, dams, and industrial structures.
• Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for all phases of project development.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and international design codes.
• Perform structural integrity assessments and provide recommendations for existing structures.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated project delivery.
