Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a strong focus on structural engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural design engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in designing various types of structures using steel, concrete, and other materials.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure) and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics, finite element analysis, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of projects, including commercial buildings, residential complexes, and industrial facilities.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and design reports using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate closely with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients throughout the design process.
• Review and approve shop drawings, calculations, and other submissions from contractors.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and building codes.
• Manage design-related aspects of projects, ensuring delivery within established timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and drafters.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, investigations, and construction support as needed.
