Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience for our LA – Woodland Hills office. The role requires a California-licensed engineer with solid experience in designing steel, concrete, and wood structures for commercial and institutional buildings.

You will collaborate with architects, owners, and contractors to produce high-quality drawings and coordinate multi-discipline teams. Hybrid work is available, with competitive compensation and bonuses.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
• PE registration in California is required.
• 5-10 years' experience with design of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Local California coding experience.
• Ability to work independently with proper oversight and in larger project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects.
• Collaborate with architect, owner, and contractor to provide coordinated structural drawings.
• Contribute to project teams to execute structural designs.
• Meet with project team to ensure effective communication flow.
• Interface with contractor during construction to minimize complications.
• Support department, projects, and growth objectives with the Discipline Manager.
