Job summary

Coffman Engineers, Inc. in Woodland Hills, CA seeks a Structural Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to design steel, concrete and timber buildings and grow within our progressive, multi-discipline firm.

The successful candidate will be a licensed engineer with solid experience in a variety of commercial/institutional projects and will collaborate closely with architects, owners, and contractors to deliver high-quality structural drawings. Hybrid work schedule offered.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
• PE registration in California.
• 5–10 years' experience with design of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Local California coding experience.
• Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight.
• Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
• Contribute to project teams of engineers, designers and drafters to execute structural designs.
• Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
• Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.
