Job summary

Placements24 has an opportunity for a senior Civil Engineer specialized in structural and building design to join a growing team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will lead structural analysis, supervise designs, and ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality documentation across residential, commercial, and public projects.

The role requires a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, Pr. Eng registration with ECSA, and at least seven years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in structural and building design.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure).
• Experience with construction methods and materials used in building projects.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for various building types including concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure design adherence.
• Collaborate with architectural teams and consultants on integrated designs.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material specs.
• Ensure designs meet building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
