Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to provide structural design and technical leadership for heavy industrial sites in Minnesota. You will perform foundation and structural analyses, develop plans, drawings, specifications, and design documentation, and supervise field inspections to ensure adherence to the design intent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (steel and concrete design)
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• PE certification or ability to obtain within one year
• Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Revit, STAAD Pro, IDEA Statica, Advanced Steel, RISA 3D, or MathCAD
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship (Barr)
• Ability to work in rough terrain and industrial sites with travel readiness
• Desirable: 15+ years, SE license, 3D software like Revit, and project management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide structural design and technical leadership for heavy industrial sites
• Perform foundation and structural analysis
• Conduct field inspections and collect field data
• Develop engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Write technical reports and contribute to project reports
• Support construction by reviewing submittals and answering field questions
• Prepare engineering calculations and models for steel, reinforced concrete, walls and foundations
• Help develop project schedules and cost estimates
• Mentor and develop junior team members
• Participate in site visits to document existing conditions and observe construction
• Ensure construction complies with design intent
• Use structural software to support project tasks and collaboration
• Provide senior leadership and communicate with project leaders on multidisciplinary teams
• Travel up to 30% for field assignments
