Job summary
WSP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Salt Lake City to support our Property and Buildings Team. You will lead engineering analyses, develop drawings and calculations, and help deliver complex structural projects for healthcare, education, civic, and commercial sectors.
You will collaborate with engineers, architects and authorities, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering with state licensure or EIT certification.
- 5–7 years of post-education experience in structural design, detailing, renovation or seismic strengthening.
- Strong knowledge of IBC and structural codes, plus design and construction administration.
- Proficient in structural software and BIM; able to communicate technical findings clearly.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural construction drawings, calculation packages and specifications.
- Perform professional structural engineering work and assess site conditions for conformance with codes.
- Lead or support projects with cross-functional teams and manage small to mid-size scopes.
- Prepare technical reports, data visualizations and presentations for stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and ensure QA/QC compliance.
