Job summary

MRCE seeks a Mid-Senior Structural Engineer in New York City to join a growing team on geo-structural and foundation projects. You will analyze, design, inspect, and support construction from concept through completion, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and regulators.

You will work on deep foundations, waterfront structures, and underpinning systems, with opportunities for professional growth and exposure to advanced design tools and field work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Numerical analysis and modeling is a plus.
• AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP2000 and RISA is a plus.
• Engineer in Training or FE examination in progress.
• Readiness to spend time in the field for projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and with a team.
• Capable of representing the company on sites and with clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, field assessments, and engineering evaluations.
• Perform pre-construction and post-construction surveys of buildings and structures.
• Analyze and design temporary excavation supports, retaining structures, underpinning, and deep foundations.
• Design waterfront and marine structures and related foundations.
• Develop structural calculations and analyses for lateral earth support systems.
• Prepare reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and regulatory agencies.
• Perform field inspections for foundation construction and loads testing.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and field modifications.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables; mentor junior staff.
• Support business development and client relationships.
