Job summary

Aperture in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead investigations, forensic analyses, and remedial design for complex building envelopes.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years of US experience, with proven court testimony and strong writing skills. This role involves field visits and client collaboration to manage multiple projects and budgets.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• NCEES record is required.
• Experience working within the continental United States.
• Must have experience testifying in court.
• Proficient technical writing ability.
• Ability to perform field visits to existing buildings, construction sites and post-disaster environments.
• Proven experience in building envelopes for both existing and new buildings.
• Must have experience with BlueBeam and Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic analysis of building structures.
• Lead multi-disciplined investigations of buildings.
• Analyze building problems and execute field investigations.
• Articulate technical issues in writing and verbally for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to testify at depositions and trials.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support marketing and sales efforts.
• Design structures and remedial repairs for buildings.
• Lead a multi-disciplined team in the design process.
• Prepare well-written, compelling reports.
