Job summary

TKDA is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Seattle Facilities Engineering team. You will design structural systems for diverse facilities, prepare calculations and drawings, and coordinate with multi-discipline teams through design and construction phases.

You will develop technical leadership and project management skills while collaborating with architects, engineers and contractors in a 100% employee-owned firm. Hybrid schedule: Tue–Thu in office, Mon & Fri WFH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• SE license or ability to obtain Washington SE licensure within one year of hire.
• Five+ years of structural design experience for facilities projects.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and precast structural systems.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D and RAM Structural System.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience collaborating with multi-discipline teams throughout project delivery.
• Strong communication skills with clients, contractors and project teams.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for facilities projects across the Pacific Northwest.
• Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Develop drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams for integrated designs.
• Participate in model reviews and clash detection.
• Conduct site visits and field verifications of existing structures.
• Support construction observation activities and condition assessments.
• Build relationships with clients, project teams, and contractors.
• Lead or support structural-only and multi-discipline projects through design to construction administration.
• Develop leadership and project management skills.
