Job summary

TKDA in Seattle seeks a Senior Professional Engineer, Structural to design structural systems for diverse facilities projects across the Pacific Northwest. You will prepare calculations, specs, and construction documents, and develop details in AutoCAD and Revit.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, a Washington SE plan or license within a year, and 5+ years of structural design experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and precast systems. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of structural design experience for facilities projects.
  • Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and precast systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Licensed in multiple states is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for meetings/site visits.

Senior Professional Engineer, Structural

Join TKDA's growing Facilities Engineering team in Seattle and help shape the structures that support communities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design structural systems for a variety of facilities projects across the Pacific Northwest.
  • Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Develop detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams to ensure integrated, high-quality designs.
  • Participate in model reviews and clash detection efforts.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and field verifications of existing structures.
  • Perform condition assessments and support construction observation activities.
  • Build relationships with clients, project teams, and contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Lead or support structural-only and multi-discipline projects from planning and design through construction administration.
  • Continue developing your technical leadership and project management skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license, or the ability and commitment to obtain Washington SE licensure within one year of hire.
  • Five or more years of structural design experience supporting facilities projects.
  • Experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and precast structural systems.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D and/or RAM Structural System.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-discipline engineering and architectural teams throughout project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and project team members.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for project meetings, site visits, and construction observation activities.
  • Professional Engineer registration in multiple states.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) licensure in Washington, Oregon, and/or California.
  • Experience managing projects and coordinating client relationships.
  • Experience preparing fee proposals and responding to RFPs.
