Job summary

LHB, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer for the Energy and Industry team based in Duluth or Minneapolis, MN.

The role involves designing structures, reviewing drawings, and coordinating with clients and vendors on hybrid work arrangements. Responsibilities include leading engineers and designers, preparing proposals and schedules, and conducting field visits to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited program in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6 years of structural engineering experience including concrete and steel design.
• Professional Engineer licensure and ability to be licensed in additional states upon request.
• Familiarity with industry, building, and design codes.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Supervise other engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting.
• Participate in project and department meetings, both virtual and in-person.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors.
• Direct and review project drafting.
• Perform construction site visits and field observations, review RFIs and submittals.
• Meet client objectives and contribute to business development.
• Prepare written technical reports.
