Job summary

LHB is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our Energy and Industry team in the Duluth or Minneapolis offices. The role focuses on designing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings, and specifications, supervising CAD staff, and supporting proposals and project delivery.

Applicants should have an ABET-accredited civil or structural engineering degree, 6 years of concrete and steel design experience, PE licensure or ability to obtain it, and strong skills in AutoCAD/Revit and

Qualifications

ABET-accredited degree required for the structural engineering role.
At least 6 years of structural engineering experience with concrete and steel design.
Professional Engineer licensure; ability to license in other states.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit and standard design codes.
Knowledge of structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAAD.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Supervise engineers, designers, and technicians on projects.
Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules.
Participate in virtual and in-person project and department meetings.
Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors.
Direct and review project drafting and site observations.
Meet client objectives and contribute to business development.
Prepare written technical reports.
