Barry-Wehmiller Design Group seeks a seasoned Department Manager - Structural to lead complex projects for world‑class clients. You will guide design teams, deliver high‑quality structures, and ensure rigorous seismic design, compliance with codes, and value for clients.

You will mentor engineers, manage workloads, and collaborate with regional leaders to drive growth and excellence in manufacturing and technology environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred.
• 10+ years of structural design experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• 3+ years as a structural engineering design manager (preferred).
• Proficiency with seismic design and analysis, and knowledge of building codes.

Responsibilities

• Act as Structural Engineer of Record for a range of projects from greenfield campuses to brownfield retrofits.
• Lead engineers and designers through all project phases and deliverables.
• Mentor the structural team and contribute to professional growth.
• Oversee department hiring, workload planning, and performance reviews.
• Collaborate across regional and national teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Develop client relationships and identify new structural opportunities.
