Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced structural engineer to create analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures. You will direct model development, check designs for compliance, and coordinate with other disciplines to meet project requirements.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute to technical documentation, and support business proposals. Travel may be required to serve client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Creates structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures of basic to high complexity.
• Directs development of models, drawings, and specifications.
• Reviews draft designs for regulatory compliance and signs off; coordinates with other disciplines.
• Performs structural condition assessments and contributes to technical papers and proposals.
• Mentors junior staff and may supervise work on projects.
