Job summary

CDM Smith in Raleigh, NC seeks a seasoned structural engineer to design and analyze concrete, steel, and masonry structures from concept through construction documents. You will develop models, drawings, and specifications, review drafts for code compliance, and coordinate with other disciplines while mentoring junior staff.

You will apply your PE license and at least 7 years of related experience, travel up to 10% may be required, and you will contribute to RFPs and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of related structural engineering experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Create structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures to meet project requirements.
• Direct development of models, drawings, and specifications.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
• Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
